Winter is coming and you need to make sure your precious lips are not chapped and dry. Here’s a tip for you that will take you a long way and keep those luscious lips fresh and smooth:
WHAT YOU NEED
-A tablespoon of brown sugar or white sugar
-A dash of honey (just enough to make the sugar really stick together) OR a bit of olive oil/coconut oil
-A teeny tiny little drop of vanilla (it makes it smell yummy, but isn’t necessary.)
-A small container
WHAT TO DO
Mix a tablespoon of brown sugar with just enough honey (or olive oil) to get it to stick together and add a drop of vanilla to it. Mix the ingredients and voila, a perfect home made lip scrub! Once a week (twice at the very max) rub the scrub onto your lips vigorously enough to loosen the dead skin. Let it sit for 1 minute, and then wipe off with a damp washcloth. Apply lip balm after use. This exfoliation scrub is helps slough off dry skin, and allows for better penetration of hydrating products and makes your favorite lipsticks go on smoother and last longer.
TIPS
Don’t overuse this. It is a great tool when it comes to dealing with chapped, peeling lips but too much exfoliation can harm your lips.
If you would rather avoid the sticky honey, you can substitute with olive oil or coconut oil (great moisturizers for the lips)
Always keep your lips moisturized and hydrated.
And, applying sunblock on your lips is key. Yes, it’s a thing and it’s very important!
