Eyes are windows to our souls (or so we’ve been told…) so it’s important to make sure you’re doing your eye-makeup right. We’re here to share our top tipsandtricks to help you accentuate your eyes:
Eyelashes
TIP: Everyone wants to have those thick, long eyelashes but not all of us are so lucky. Don’t stress, and don’t opt for fake eyelashes, choose Castor Oil instead. Every night before going to bed, dip a q-tip in castor oil and stroke it on your eyelashes. And, voila! A few weeks later you’ll see the results: thicker, longer eyelashes.
TRICK: For an instant eyelash lift, layer different mascaras together to achieve a false lash effect and ALWAYS use a eyelash curler before applying mascara for a longer lasting effect.
Eyelids
TIP: Always wear an eye primer, even if you don’t have oily lids (lucky you!). A primer prevents makeup from smudging and guarantees longevity by providing base for the make up.
TRICK: Use a white eyeliner and cover entire lid before applying eyeshadow. This trick ensures that those vibrant eyeshadow shades show their true color and don’t appear dull.
Eyebrows
TIP: Tweezing might be the easiest way to pluck those extra hair and get a neat look quick but always remember to place a hot washcloth on your face before you start plucking. This will not only lessen the pain but also help with opening your pores.
TRICK: No matter what color your eyebrows are the perfect shade to fill them is a gray-brown shade of taupe mixed with a brown shade. Use an angled brow eyeliner brush to fill the entire brow and don’t go overboard by making them three times bigger. It’s always best to give a subtle touch, just enough to accentuate them.
Under-eye
TIP: Cool cucumbers under the eyes have been plastered in minds from our favorite chick flicks to spa ads, but the key tip for those dark circles is using aloe vera. This magical ingredient helps lighten any pigmentation you have on your face and fights dark circles like no other.
TRICK: Use a good light reflecting concealer or layer concealers to get the perfect coverage. Be sure to use a shade or two lighter than your circles to lighten the darkness. But, make sure your concealer isn’t too light and compliments your foundation.
